Main purpose of the job:

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a dynamic and hardworking spares sales team. Reporting to our Group Sales Director you will be responsible for driving spares sales globally from our head office in Sherburn in Elmet.

The team you will lead is small and office based dealing with varied enquiries for spares, with leads coming in from all over the world.

Main Duties:
  • Support the spares sales team to progress opportunities in a timely manner.

  • Assist with technical knowledge on the ordering of parts, previous experience in a technical parts role is advantageous.

  • Place orders for the business and its requirements.

  • Apply various sales skills to capitalise on commercial opportunities through negotiation of prices/up selling.

  • Maintain a high level of pro-active telephone contact with both existing and prospective suppliers.

  • Pro-actively seek best pricing by targeting a combination of lapsed suppliers, existing suppliers and prospective suppliers.

  • Effectively deal with telephone enquiries requesting quotations; compiling information on the desired requirements.

  • Liaise with warehouse operations to efficiently answer general enquiries.

  • Meet and exceed the agreed specific performance objectives.

  • Achieve team targets as set by the Management Team within the agreed time scale.

  • Ensure all prospects and orders received are entered into the simPro system accurately.

  • Liaise on a daily basis with your colleagues and update them on any developments in your work, ensuring a high level of team relationships exist.

  • You should have excellent attention to detail when entering information in to our internal systems.

  • Strong customer service background or aptitude

  • Sound relationship building skills with customers / suppliers

  • Can demonstrate the ability to go the extra mile, to exceed expectations

  • Excellent telephone manner

Qualifications:

Maths & English - GCSE (or equivalent) grades A-C

Remuneration

£23k to £28k (depending on experience) + company bonus scheme.​
