PPSPower is delighted to have won the Partners in Expert Services award in the PFM Awards.

The ceremony, which was originally planned to take place at The Brewery in Chiswell Street in London in November 2020, was delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. As a result, a virtual ceremony was held on 17th March 2021 via Zoom.
The Partners in Expert Services award recognised the hugely successful collaboration between PPSPower and KCOM, provider of broadband internet and telephone services for Hull and East Yorkshire.
The two organisations have worked in partnership for 18 years. During this time, PPSPower has covered 39 generators for KCOM, providing upgrades and remedial works, technical back-up, 24/7 coverage and telephone support.
In 2020, PPSPower entered a contract to provide ‘mission-critical’ back-up power generator maintenance for KCOM – also covering additional works such as new unit installations, fuel system upgrades, repairs and remedials such as decommissioning and removals of existing unit.
Stephen Peal, Managing Director of PPSPower, said:
“I am absolutely delighted that the team here at PPSPower has been recognised as the winners of the Partners in Expert Services award at tonight's #PFMAwards. Obviously I would rather have been in London wearing my black tie but instead I was watching it live in my office. A huge thank you to everyone involved in the process."
The judges said:
"Partnership runs through the contract, even to the collaboration over innovation, by providing a joint approach to ‘doing things better’. It was fitting for Stephen Pheasant (of KCOM) to be in the presentation as he has only recently retired and had such a good working relationship with PPSPower. The handover and relationship do not seem to have deteriorated since having a new main contact at KCOM.
“Although the contract is based on a solid partnership, the added value can be seen in bundles in the innovation area. After so many years it may have been difficult to keep bringing added value, however adding value can been seen. With the addition to the contract of onsite training to site engineering teams and a replacement/upgrade strategy, PPSPower have demonstrated that they wish to deliver a high value offering and not just complete the contractual minimum.
“What came across in the presentation was a passion for delivering a a specialist engineering service to a respected client.”
