Job Description: Group Operations Manager
Location:
At our head office and warehouse location in Sherburn in Elmet, LS25 6PB.
Reports to:
Group Directors
Main purpose of the job:
PPSPower are part of a group of companies that include YorPower, Glenace and Generator Warehouse. This group is currently looking for an individual with a technical background in diesel generators to oversee the distribution of generators worldwide and to support the PPSPower business with technical and operational support.
Main Duties:
YorPower:

Managing the stock and distribution of diesel generators and associated equipment:

Ensuring all generators are despatched to the exact specifications determined by our clients and distributors;

Overseeing Factory Acceptance Tests when required;

Liaising with third party Inspectors;

Liaising with Customers re warranty.

Project management of UK installations of diesel generators:
-
Working closely with engineer teams and managers to ensure the safe and efficient installation and commissioning of UK projects;

Client and supplier liaison;

Site visits when required.
PPSPower:
-
Technical support to the sales, parts and operational teams;

Member of the Group Health & Safety committee;

The training and development of apprentice engineers;
Whilst this is an operational management role reporting to the Board, the individual should be prepared to be hands-on when the needs arises and customer focused at all times. We are looking for a problem solver with a very positive attitude to doing whatever it takes to ensure the highest level of customer service is achieved throughout the group. It is also paramount that safe working practices, in line with Company policies, are employed at all times.
Qualifications, skills & experience:

Strong diesel generator technical knowledge - essential

18th Edition - desirable but not essential

Fork Lift Truck Licence - desirable.

Good IT skills (Office, Database etc…)

Strong customer service background or aptitude.
